Eating & Drinking – Pubs, Cafés, Restaurants

We’re attempting to list all of the pubs, cafés and restaurants in and around Cambridge’s Mill Road, with links to their websites, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. Whilst many of these also sell take-away food, we’ve left out those which are only take-away establishments. We want you to linger along Mill Road, in places where you can sit down for a relaxed bite and/or a drink. Don’t rush off home; stay and explore the many delights of Mill Road – both sides of the bridge.

Click on each pub, café or restaurant’s address to open a map in a new window or tab.

Descriptions are garnered from each establishment’s own website, Facebook page, or from on-line reviews. They are not to be taken as a recommendation from Mill Road Bridges.

If we’ve missed out your pub, café or restaurant – or your favourite place to eat or drink – please leave a comment on this site, send us a direct message on Facebook, or Twitter, or email info@mill-road.com.

Black Cat Café

Black Cat Cafe is located on Mill Rd over the bridge; a cosmopolitan and vibrant part of Cambridge. A local icon since opening in October 2005, Black Cat has been serving a variety of coffee, specialty tea, smoothies and an assortment of handmade cakes and savoury food.

Black Cat was established to bring the artisan style of food found in New Zealand and Australian cafes to Cambridge. As a consequence, it has become a rendezvous for Mill Rd locals and a haven for New Zealand and Australian ex-pats and travellers desperate for a good slice of handmade cake (some of which we now sell to cafes in London) and a properly made Flat White coffee.

And yes it is true, Black Cat brought the Flat White coffee to Cambridge in 2005. (Well, that’s what they claim – and who are we to argue?)
